MANILA, Philippines – At the age of 47, sexy actress Carmi Martin takes pride in being among the students who graduated from college this school year.
Martin got a degree in Fine Arts at the Philippine Women’s University.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, she said she is proud of what she has achieved outside the world of show business.
"Hindi naman pang matagalan ang showbiz, so kailangan natin ng ibang propesyon," Martin related.
Martin already has a certificate in Interior Designing, which she got from the Philippine School of Interior Design (PSID).
However, she needs to attain a college degree and pass a board examination first to become a certified interior designer.
Martin is set to take the board exams and venture into her new job as a designer in November.

Meanwhile, beauty queen hopeful Luzelle Felipe got emotional as she thanked Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. for allowing her to finish a certificate course despite the pageant’s hectic schedule.
Felipe said that in spite of her family’s financial woes, she did not allow anything to hinder her studies.
Felipe hopes she would serve as a role model to the youth especially to those who are losing their drive to finish their education due to poverty.
She said the pageant has helped her realize that education is valuable, and that she should give importance to herself.
Felipe now considers herself as a winner because of this achievement.
Felipe is among the early favorites in the pageant because many got inspired by her story as a tricycle driver in Bulacan.
The Binibining Pilipinas coronation night will be on Sunday, April 10. -Report from Mario Dumaual, ABS-CBN News
