MANILA, Philippines – Is the hunt for the new host of entertainment show “The Buzz” on?
Since Ruffa Gutierrez left the popular program last month, speculations regarding Gutierrez’s replacement have started to circulate.
Gretchen Barretto was among those rumored to take Gutierrez’s spot in the show, but the actress already denied it.
Now, reports said Vice Ganda is also being considered to host the show alongside Boy Abunda and Kris Aquino.
When sought for reaction, 34-year-old Vice Ganda told “The Buzz” on Sunday: "Ay naku! Hindi pa natin alam pero abangan natin. Abangan ninyo kung saka-sakaling mapasama ako sa ‘The Buzz.’ Sabay-sabay ninyo akong salubungin.”
“Kung hindi man, sabay sabay natin silang kuyugin dahil pinaasa nila tayo. Joke lang. Pero abangan natin yan," Vice Ganda added.
There is no confirmation yet if Vice Ganda will join “The Buzz,” but the stand-up comedian and “Showtime” judge already won the hearts of Aquino and Abunda.
Aquino said: "I-join na natin ito, sige na. Boy, let's share na lang for the TF (talent fee) of Vice Ganda. Kunin konti sa iyo, kunin konti from me para masali na siya dito."
Reyes to temporarily replace Aquino?
Meantime, Cristine Reyes denied that she is the "young, sexy, and controversial actress" who will reportedly replace Aquino when the latter goes on leave from "The Buzz" to campaign for her brother full time. Aquino is the youngest sister of presidential contender Sen. Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III.
Reyes admitted that she thinks she is not yet ready to host the show.
"Hindi ako 'yon. And parang wala ako sa posisyon para mag-suggest kung sino ang dapat pumalit kay Ms. Kris Aquino kasi si Ms. Kris Aquino ‘yon. So, let the management decide. Parang hindi ko naman naisip or na-imagine ‘yong sarili ko na gusto kong maging host ng ‘The Buzz.’ Siguro, if given a chance, okay lang pero parang hindi ko pa kaya,” she said.
She is also discounting the possibility of hosting the celebrity program because she wants to keep her personal life private.
"Siguro kaya ayokong mag-host noong show kasi gusto ko medyo private pa rin ‘yong buhay ko. Pero gusto ko na nagge-guest doon. Mahal ko ang mga taga-The Buzz, pero mas gusto ko private lang talaga," she added.
Meanwhile, Reyes is leaving the country for a series of concerts with sister Ara Mina this May.
The actress disclosed that she loves to sing, but she has no plans of pursuing a singing career. Contrary to her sweet and girly image, she said she’s into heavy rock genre.
"I love rock. Mas trip ko talaga yung mga rock kaysa pop. ‘Yon yung other side ko," she said. -With a report from Fionna Acaba, ABS-CBN.com
