MANILA - The first two grand finalists have been revealed.
Maricel Callo and Mary Gidget Dela Llana are moving on the final round of "Tawag ng Tanghalan" after the two received the highest scores from the judges and public text votes combined.
Callo got an average final score of 93.45 percent, while Dela Llana had 86.53 percent. The scores were based on their performances from the past week, including one on Saturday.
For their last semi-finals stint, the 20-year-old Dela Llana belted out Whitney Houston's "When You Believe." Callo, on the other hand, sang Survivor's "Ever Since the World Began."
The two took home an additional P150,000.
The others contestants who failed to nab a spot in the grand finals --Dominador Alviola Jr., Rachel Gabreza, and Jaime Navarro-- each went home with an additional P25,000.
"Tawag ng Tanghalan," which began airing in January, will start its search for another batch of semi-finalists on Monday. The grand finals is scheduled to be held late 2016 or early 2017.
