The Philippines' international teen diva Charice will play a role in 20th Century Fox’s "Alvin and The Chipmunks 2," a live action-animation movie scheduled to be shown in January 2010, according to a report posted on www.goodnewspilipinas.com.
The report said that Charice is thrilled over her first Hollywood project, and that it is a dream come true for her.
Contrary to earlier reports that she will play the role of a female chipmunk in the movie, Charice was just asked to play herself.
“It’s not a big role, but the fact that it’s a Hollywood movie is already a big deal for me,” Charice added.
The report said that in the movie, Charice will represent her school in a singing contest.
She will sing Alicia Key's hit song, "No One," and will be competing with other contestants, including Alvin and The Chipmunks.
When asked who will win the contest, Charice replied: “Secret! Hindi ko raw dapat sabihin, eh.”
Charice said she had to audition for the role, read the script, and also speak like one of the chipmunks in the movie.
"I sang two songs, 'Listen,' and 'Irreplaceable,' both by Beyoncé,” said Charice.
Charice was reportedly chosen by the director of "Alvin and The Chipmunks" after he saw her on Oprah and was really impressed with her performance.
