MANILA — In a virtual concert she dubbed "hugot hour," Juris performed her signature heartbreak tunes for her long-time fans, as part of a fundraiser series for communities worst hit by the coronavirus crisis.
Juris was one of several artists who were lined up Thursday for "Bayanihan, Musikahan," a Facebook Live program that aims to benefit the urban poor suffering from lost of income amid the Luzon-wide quarantine.
As promised at the beginning of her episode, Juris sang a number of her "hugot" hits, including "Paano Kung," "Kahit Na Hindi Mos Sabihin Pa," "Di Lang Ikaw," and "Magkaibang Mundo."
The mini-concert was not without hopeful melodies, however, with Juris' fresh renditions of "I'm A Little Bit" and "Sa 'Yo Lamang" — both songs of her former band MYMP — and "Only When I'm With You."
In between performances, Juris urged her audience to do their part in preventing the spread of the coronavirus disease. She also expressed gratitude to frontline workers who put their life on the line, especially those in the medical field.
