JAKARTA, Indonesia -- Pia Wurtzbach recently collaborated with Marvel Studios when she sat down with Brie Larson when the latter was promoting “Captain Marvel.”
With this already in the books, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Wurtzbach work with Marvel again in any of its future projects.
Perhaps as Wave, the new Filipino superhero of the Marvel universe who has yet to formally make her comic book debut?
“Definitely. If there’s gonna be an audition for it, I’m gonna try for that. Why not, di ba?” she told reporters here on Tuesday.
The comics giant unveiled the first image of Wave in early March, two months before the May release of “War of the Realms: New Agents of Atlas,” the upcoming series where she will be introduced alongside other Asian superheroes.
However, Marvel, whose phenomenal cinematic universe continues to smash box-office records globally, has made no announcement yet of a screen adaptation featuring Wave or any character from the same batch of Asian superheroes.
Apart from acting, Wurtzbach has also been busy with hosting stints whether it be on television or for events.
In fact, she was invited to be one of the hosts of the Lazada Super Party to be held in the Indonesian capital on Tuesday night.
“I always like it when I get invited to events like this because it really helps me in my hosting skills. I feel like the work that I’ve done in the Philippines, the shows that I’m doing in the Philippines, have helped me become more experienced. I’m glad that I got invited. It means I’m doing a good job,” she said.
When asked what she’s looking forward to about the event, the former Miss Universe said: “I think everyone is looking forward to seeing Dua Lipa perform. And I love the fact that there’s also gonna be different performances of artists from Southeast Asian countries. It’s gonna be a big party.”
In addition to Wurtzbach, the other Filipino artists who will be performing at the concert are Nadjne Lustre and Sam Concepcion.
