MANILA – Julia Barretto thinks it is unfair for her to be asked who is more special between Joshua Garcia and Ronnie Alonte, who are both her current leading men.
The young actress said she is fortunate that her supporters accept her team-up with both actors because she has long waited for her right on-screen partner to come along.
“Natutuwa lang ako na mainit 'yung pagtanggap sa amin ni Josh and sa amin din ni Ronnie. Kasi before, kahit isa hindi ako makahanap [ng love team]. I’m thankful na with the two boys, tanggap na tanggap. I am very grateful for that,” she said.
However, this is not to say that everything comes easy for Barretto to have two leading men.
“If I am being very honest, hindi siya parating madali because I always have to be fair. I have to keep it balanced always. I’ve been very real. Whatever you see, it’s because okay ako sa dalawa. My friendship with Ronnie is okay, my friendship with Joshua is okay. Feeling ko yun ang pinaka-importante sa lahat,” she said.
Barretto said she has gotten to know Garcia and Alonte on a personal level.
“I don’t think it’s fair kung may pipiliin ako na isa,” she said. “Okay naman kaming tatlo. That’s what matters. If we all work together, very well.”
When asked to react on Alonte’s perception that he is the third wheel in their triangle, Barretto only had one thing to say.
“What’s nice also about the management is that they are giving Joshua a chance to shine. Now, they are giving Ronnie a chance to shine with ‘A Love to Last.’ When that happens, we see balance. We see how fair it is with the fan base of Joshua and Ronnie. Feeling ko wala namang lamang. Whatever work is given to us, we are always just giving it our very best and that’s what’s important,” she said.
Barretto, Garcia and Alonte are the lead stars of the 2016 Metro Manila Film Festival top grosser “Vince and Kath and James.”
Alonte is also Barretto’s leading man in the prime time series “A Love to Last.”
