MANILA – The coaches of “The Voice of the Philippines” put on a united front as they took part in ABS-CBN’s "Pantawid ng Pag-ibig: At-Home Together Concert" on Sunday.
First to perform was Lea Salonga, who sang “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.”
“I wanted to sing something that’s close to my heart. It’s one of my favorite songs. It’s something that we can all use and hopefully we’ll be able to see that rainbow at the end of this storm,” she said.
She also thanked everyone “that makes this whole metropolis go around and make it work like we know it to.”
Following Salonga was Bamboo, who performed a mashup of his songs “Ikot ng Mundo” and “Noypi.”
Apl.de.ap, meanwhile, called on everyone to pray for those who are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Mga kababayan, bago tayo matulog ngayong gabi, isama natin sa ating dasal ang mga OFWs and other Kapamilyas who are facing the same COVID-19 crisis. To all our Kapamilyas worldwide, we are asking for your generosity to help our kababayans who are in need in this time,” he said.
For his performance, the Black Eyed Peas member sang a part of “Ang Buhay Ko.”
The "Pantawid ng Pag-ibig: At-Home Together Concert" was part of the ABS-CBN campaign which aims to raise funds for Filipinos whose livelihoods were affected by the Luzon-wide lockdown, which was implemented to curb the spread of the coronavirus disease.
ABS-CBN has already pledged P100 million to kickstart the fundraiser.
The show featured a range of musical performances and entertaining interviews with Kapamilya stars.
