Pepe Herrera wins best actor in 2016 CineFilipino

MANILA -- Pepe Herrera, who plays Benny in the primetime hit "Ang Probinsyano," was named best actor in the recently concluded 2016 CineFilipino Film Festival for his performance in "Sakaling Hindi Makarating."

The film, which also stars Alessandra de Rossi, took several awards including best director for Ice Idanan, best cinematography, best musical score, best sound and best editing.

"Ang Probinsyano" lead star Coco Martin took to Instagram to congratulate Herrera.

Meanwhile, comedian Candy Pangilinan and indie film actress Angeli Bayani tied for best actress, while best picture was given to Lemuel Lorca’s "Ned’s Project."
