MANILA -- As the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic continues to affect the lives of Filipinos, with a lockdown over Luzon imposed following a rise in confirmed cases that now stand at 230, with 18 deaths, as of this Friday, “It’s Showtime” host Vice Ganda has donated supplies to the frontliners battling its spread.
Vice Ganda shared on Instagram photos of the boxes of face masks, disposable medical gloves, safety goggles, alcohol, and disinfectant spray that he and his team sent to a number of hospitals across the metro.
The list includes the Lung Center of the Philippines, the Quezon City General Hospital, the San Lazaro Hospital in Manila, and the Philippine Children's Medical Center.
In all caps, Vice Ganda told the country's health workers: “Maraming maraming salamat po sa lahat ng mga frontliners para sa pagmamahal at pagkalinga ninyo sa mga madlang people!!! Mabuhay po kayo! Pagpalain ng Diyos ang inyong kabayanihan.”
Vice Ganda’s charity act comes a few days after he announced the financial assistance he would be giving the more than 400 employees of his cosmetic line, Vice Cosmetics, in the form of the early release of their 13th month pay and service incentive leaves, loans, and a non-conditional cash assistance program.
