MANILA – Cacai Bautista will soon headline her 15th anniversary concert, and she had no qualms about inviting Ahron Villena to see the show.
Bautista and Villena were rumored to be a couple back in 2016, but things quickly went sour after the latter deleted some of his photos with the comedienne on Instagram.
Bautista also made headlines when she joked about Villena's sexuality, which prompted an angry response from the actor.
The two have since patched things up.
During the press conference for her concert on Tuesday, Bautista said: "Si Ahron po pupunta, pero hindi po siya kasali sa concert. Ako po talaga ang nagsabi na, 'Hindi ka kasali sa concert ha, kasi gusto ko performer.' Kawawa naman siya, pero kailangan niyang tanggapin. Manood na lang siya."
When asked to recall how they reconciled, Bautista said she just woke up one day not anymore feeling any anger toward Villena.
"Nagkaroon kami ng chance to see each other tapos nag-hi lang at nagyakap. Hindi ko naman siya kakausapin or hindi ko naman siya bibigyan ng chance na magkaroon kami ulit ng bonding moment kung meron pa. Wala na. It's over and done," she said.
Bautista also denied that their reconciliation is just a career move since they are set to work on a movie together.
"Okay na kami bago pa in-offer 'yung movie. Hindi lang po dahil sa movie. Kahit naman may movie at ang offer ay P10 million pa, kung hindi ko naman kaya makipagtrabaho sa kanya at harapin siya, hindi ko tatanggapin. Parang nangyayari po talaga, dumadating na lang. Siguro si Lord ang may gusto," she said.
Were they able to clear the air when they ironed out their past misunderstandings?
"Hindi na namin actually pinag-uusapan. Ako lang ang laging nanunumbat. Ako 'yung laging nang-aaway. Pero in fairness naman to him, he's been very good to me and he's been very understanding and patient with me," she said.
Bautista said she also does not regret that they never became a couple. "Hindi, kasi we had good times. Masaya din ang memories namin together," she said.
Happening on April 6 at the Music Museum, Bautista's concert is both a tribute and a trip down the memory lane.
According to Bautista, her concert is set to become a night of colorful memories, hearty laughs, and powerful performances.
Apart from Bautista, the audience can also expect to see performances from Maymay Entrata, "X Factor UK's" JBK group, and some of her "Rak of Aegis" co-stars like Pepe Herrera, Poppert Bernadas, Jimmy Marquez, Gold Villar, Jet Barun, and Paeng Sundayan.
Kapamilya singer Jona will also be there to lend her powerful vocals.
