One of the actresses in the popular Spanish Netflix series, “Money Heist,” has announced that she has tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19).
Itziar Ituño, who plays Raquel, a tough police inspector in the show, said on Instagram, as translated online, that her case is “mild” and that she’s “fine,” but warned her fans to remain vigilant as the virus “is very dangerous for people who are weaker.”
Ituño, 45, said that she has been isolated since developing symptoms and that her test results came back Friday. It remained unclear how and where she was exposed to the virus.
Spain has the fourth most confirmed cases in the world, with more than 14,700 infections as of Thursday.
“Do not take it lightly, there are lives at stake and we still do not know how far this will go,” Ituño said. “It’s time for solitude and generosity.”
She is the latest celebrity to have tested positive for the coronavirus, following Hollywood actors Tom Hanks and Idris Elba.
“Money Heist,” or "La Casa de Papel" as referred to in Spanish, is Netflix’s most popular non-English language show. Its fourth season, the trailer for which was released earlier this month, is set to be released on April 3.
