MANILA – JM de Guzman and Arci Munoz were beyond thrilled when they learned that they will be starring not just in a television series together but also in a movie.
On Monday, the two talked to ABS-CBN News to dish out details about their big-screen project which will be released next month.
“Pelikula siya tungkol sa isang aspiring director,” Munoz began, making reference to her character. “Nabigyan siya ng break. Sinabihan siya na kailangan mo gumawa ng pelikula. Galing siyang indie, award-winning indie director.”
Required to do a romantic-comedy film, Munoz’s character thought of making a screenplay adaptation of her own love story.
“Habang ginagawa niya 'yung proseso ng pelikula, 'yung pagsusulat, binabalikan niya 'yung mga alaala, 'yung kanyang ex na si JM de Guzman,” she said.
De Guzman, for his part, described the project like a “movie within a movie.”
“Dinidirek niya (Munoz) 'yung sarili niyang pelikula pero 'yung mga artista sa pelikula niya, sa point of view niya, kami 'yung nakikita niya,” he said.
When asked how it was working together for the first time, Munoz said: “Magkaibigan na kami dati pa. Bata pa kami. Malaking bagay 'yung magkaibigan kami tapos magkatrabaho kami ngayon. Very comfortable ako sa kanya.”
Apparently, Munoz and de Guzman were classmates in a theater class when they were still in college at the University of the Philippines.
Titled "The Last Fool Show," the movie which was mostly shot in Boracay will come out in cinemas on April 10.
