MANILA -- "Nothing is final."
This was the reply of veteran actress and Batangas Governor Vilma Santos on Thursday to queries about the political plans of her son Luis Manzano.
After the story conference for her upcoming film under Star Cinema with Xian Lim and her son's girlfriend Angel Locsin, Santos told reporters that she does not know if Manzano will indeed run in next year's elections.
"It's not going to be my decision. It's going to be his decision. If I think that he's ready, then fine. But if I think that he's not yet ready, huwag na," said Santos, who threw the same question to Locsin.
Locsin, for her part, assured her support for Manzano.
"Basta ako suporta sa kung ano man ang desisyon niya," she said.
"Nagpapasalamat ako sa taga-Batangas kasi minsan kahit out of the country kami ni Luis ay may lumalapit sa kanya na nagtatanong or sinasabi na 'sana tumakbo ka.' So 'yung pagmamahal na ipinakita nila sa boyfriend ko at sa pamilya ng boyfreind ko ay nagpapasalamat ako kasi nakikita nila kung paano ko sila nakikita kung gaano sila kabuting tao," Locsin added.
Meanwhile, Santos reiterated that she likes Locsin for her son.
"Hindi na dapat tinatanong 'yan, obvious ba?" she told reporters.
"I'm just happy for them. I mean, God knows, baka they are meant for each other, nagkabalikan sila. First time I think si Angel na bumalik sa isang relationship; same thing with my son. Baka they are meant for each other. But at the end of the day, hindi kami; sila ang magde-desisyon," Santos said.
