Taking after Coldplay’s Chris Martin, American singer John Legend also conducted a virtual concert on Wednesday as part of the “Together at Home” series, which aims to unite people around the world during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Along with wife Chrissy Teigen, Legend entertained people stuck at home by holding a live Instagram broadcast and accepting song requests from his followers.

“As my friend Chris Martin started yesterday, a lot of artists have decided we want to try to help make staying home a little bit easier for everybody so we are going to try to entertain you,” he said.

While a lot of concerts and tours have been cancelled because of the COVID-19 outbreak, Legend believes “music can heal.”

“Music can bring us together so that’s why we are here. We are encouraging everybody to stay home, practice social distancing, physical distancing. Don’t go anywhere if you can avoid doing so,” he said.

For an hour, the “The Voice” coach performed several songs including “Stay With You,” “Everybody Knows” and “Bridge Over Troubled Water.”

He likewise accepted a request from his daughter Luna, who wanted hear him sing “Beauty and the Beast.”

Legend ended his virtual concert with “All of Me,” which was a huge hit when he released it in 2013.

The “Together at Home” series is organized by Global Citizen, an organization dedicated to ending poverty, among other social causes, across the world, in partnership with the World Health Organization. It aims to raise funds to help combat COVID-19.

According to Legend, other artists including Miguel, Shawn Mendes, Camila Cabello, and Charlie Puth will be joining the campaign and hold their own online concerts as well in the coming days.
