MANILA (3rd UPDATE) - Nora Aunor and Eddie Garcia won the top trophies in the 7th Asian Film Awards ceremony held in Hong Kong on Monday night.

Aunor bagged the Best Actress trophy for Brillante Mendoza's award-winning "Thy Womb."

She bested the likes of Cho Min-soo (South Korea), Golshifteh Farahani (Afghanistan), Gwei Lun-Mei (Taiwan), and Hao Lei (China) for the award.

Garcia, meanwhile, won the main Best Actor plum and the People's Choice Best Actor award for his stirring portrayal of an old, gay man in the "Bwakaw" comedy-drama film written and directed by Jun Lana.

Other nominees for the Best Actor award were Joseph Chang, Choi Min-sik, Tony Leung Ka-fai, and Liu Ye.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui (Talaash) - Best Supporting Actor

Mototaka Kakusabe (The Kirishima Thing) - Best Editor
Man Lim-chung (The Silent War) - Best Costume Designer
Bahman Ghobadi and Daryoosh Peiro (Rhino Season) - Best Production Designer

Touraj Aslani (Rhino Season) - Best Cinematographer
Pritam Chakraborty (Barfi!) - Best Composer

Farbod Khoshtinat (Rhino Season) - Best Visual Effects
Mei Feng, Yu Fan, Lou Ye (Mystery) - Best Screenwriter
