MANILA, Philippines - Singer Julio Iglesias arrived Thursday in Manila for his benefit concert dubbed "Heart of Gold" at the Araneta Coliseum on Saturday, March 20.
Proceeds from the show, which is part of his 2010 World Tour "A Starry Night with Julio Iglesias," will go to the victims of tropical storm Ondoy, which devastated large parts of Metro Manila and southern Luzon last September.
Iglesias reportedly waived his talent fee to be able to help the victims of Ondoy.
For the first time since Araneta Coliseum was built, the Big Dome's owners will reportedly also waive its rental fee to help people who are in need.
Joining Iglesias in the concert is the Philippines' Megastar Sharon Cuneta, who did a duet with him a few years ago.
Iglesias is close to Filipinos since he was once married to a Filipino, Isabel Preysler, the mother of his three children.
