ABS-CBN has won national TV station of the year at the 6th Paragala Media Awards, the largest student-based media awards in Central Luzon with nearly 30 universities participating in picking its winners.
The Kapamilya network was handed the prize at a ceremony at the Holy Angel University in Angeles City, Pampanga on Saturday night.
The other honors awarded were best teleserye, best television actor, and best television actress. These were all won by "Ang Probinsyano," with Coco Martin and Yassi Pressman taking home the acting awards.
The cop drama was also inducted into the award show's Hall of Fame, alongside its lead star.
"Siyempre magiging inspirasyon ito para samin, sa staff, artista dahil patuloy na tinatangkilik 'yung show namin," said Camille Navarro, the executive producer of "Ang Probinsyano," in her acceptance speech.
"It's Showtime" also picked up the award for best noontime show, while "ASAP Natin To" was named best musical variety show.
In the news side of things, Ted Failon won best male news anchor for "TV Patrol," while Doris Bigornia was best female reporter.
The award for best female morning show host went to Amy Perez for "Umagang Kay Ganda."
According to the organizers, around 30,000 students participated in picking the winners for this edition of the Paragala Media Awards. --with a report from Trisha Mostoles, ABS-CBN News
