MANILA -- Young actor Inigo Pascual will make his soap opera debut in ABS-CBN's upcoming series "And I Love You So," which also marks the biggest break for young actress Miles Ocampo.

Completing the cast is young star Julia Barretto, who considers the series the best birthday gift.

"What more can I ask for?" Barretto said in a press conference on Tuesday, noting that it has been a year since her last series "Mirabella" aired.

Barretto, who turned 18 last March 10, considers her role in "And I Love You So" challenging.

"Kasi my shifting sa character ko this time, mas may konek sa akin as Julia. Malalim talaga 'yung character," Barretto said.

For her part, Ocampo, who currently plays a supporting role in the sitcom "Home Sweetie Home," said she is grateful for being given a major role in a teleserye.

"Kinakabahan ako pero sobrang thankful kasi habang lumalaki ay sa sitcom ako nalagay. Pero ngayon nabigyan ako ng opportunity ng Dreamscape na gumawa naman ng iba," said Ocampo, who also starred in the first season of the teen-oriented show "LUV U" back in 2012.

"Pinapangako ko na gagawin ko ang best ko na maiba 'yung gagawin ko sa mga nagawa ko dati. Dito may lalim ang character ko. Magugulat kayo. Gagawin ko ang best ko," promised Ocampo, who started in showbiz as a child actress in the kiddie gag show "Goin' Bulilit."

Pascual, meanwhile, is looking forward to show off his two passions in the new series.

"I'm gonna put my musical background and my acting together kasi 'yung character ko dito he is a musician. I'm really happy that I will be able to put that part of my life in this (project)," Pascual explained.

The young actor added that he is honored to be working with Ocampo and Barretto.

"I'm super excited. Si Miles kilala ko siya 'Mangarap Ka' days pa lang. Si Julia naman I met years ago dito. Sobrang excited ako to work with them. So sabi nga ni Julia, we need teamwork," he added.

The series will be directed by Don Cuaresma, who said the series is basically a drama but with some humor.

"A drama with a wit. It's about family, friendship, love and betrayal. Ang milieu niya may mahirap at mayaman at hotelier ang pamilya, so heaven and earth," Cuaresma said.

"And I Love You So" will also star Luke Jickain, Raymond Bagatsing, Dante Rivero, Bing Loyzaga, Dimples Romana, Jay Manalo and Angel Aquino.
