MANILA - "Your Face Sounds Familiar," ABS-CBN's newest show, proved to be a hit with Filipinos online with its debut episode trending worldwide on Twitter.

Throughout the pilot episode aired Saturday, the show's official hashtag was among the most talked about topics on the microblogging site, with many expressing their support for the show and the performers.

The episode kicked off the program by introducing the show's judges Gary Valenciano, Jed Madela, and returning Kapamilya Sharon Cuneta.

The three took to the stage their impersonation of famous singers such as Bruno Mars, "King of Rock and Roll" Elvis Presley, and Adele.

Valenciano, Madela, and Cuneta are tasked to give their comments on the eight celebrity performers, who will each impersonate a different singer every week. According to the show, it could be artists who may be deceased, older or younger, or of the opposite sex.

Karla Estrada, the mother of teen star Daniel Padilla, was the first one of the celebrity performers to take the stage. She sang as Cuneta in what was a "tribute" to the Megastar.

"Mawawalan na ako agad ng trabaho. Kakabalik ko pa lang eh may papalit na agad sa akin," Cuneta said of Estrada's performance.

She was followed by singer Nyoy Volante who earned praise for his impersonation of "King of Pop" Michael Jackson. He performed the late singer's iconic hit, "Thriller."

Valenciano said: "Napaka-courageous mo na ginawa mo ito. Na-impress ako doon sa boses mo kasi mahirap kantahin iyan ng live. Isa 'yan sa mga pinakamahirap na kanta ni Michael Jackson and I think you did a good job."

Madela, for his part, added: Paglabas mo kanina, hindi ko makita si Nyoy. Wala talaga akong makita Nyoy na mukha. Total change. Tumitingin ako sa mukha ni Michael Jackson at tumitingin ako sa mukha ni Nyoy, nakakakilabot."

"The resemblance was really uncanny. Pero 'yung sayaw at pagkanta ng sabay, sobrang hirap gawin noon. Ilang artist lang ang nakakagawa niyan at dahil diyan sa performance mo, saludo ako ako sa iyo," the singer said.

Performances from Maxene Magalona as Taylor Swift, 6 Cyclemind vocalist Tutti Caringal as Freddie Aguilar, and R&B performer Jay-R as Pepe Smith rounded up the night's episode.

"Your Face Sounds Familiar" airs every Saturdays after "Maalala Mo Kaya" and Sundays after "Rated K."
