MANILA – Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach is still clinging to her dream of being a leading lady in a James Bond movie.
In an interview with reporters on Sunday, Wurtzbach said everyone in the Miss Universe Organization knows about her dream, and she is still hoping it would come true.
"Nakabantay ako doon kasi alam kong may lalabas na bago. They are really trying to experiment already with the cast so it means that it's gonna be really different this time. Even sina Esther (Swan), Miss Universe, IMG, they all know that I want something like that. If not that, something like that," she said.
However, Wurtzbach acknowledged that she cannot jump into something without being prepared for it.
"Busy kasi ako dito. Dapat nandoon ako so I get stuff there. For example, we'll start first as leading lady sa music videos and then we'll slowly work our way up. But it's still there. It's still at the back of my mind," she said.
When asked when she is planning to get the scholarship waiting for her at the New York Film Academy, Wurtzbach replied: "Gagamitin ko pero hindi muna ngayon. Kailangan kong bumalik doon. Pero hindi muna kasi pumirma ako ng kontrata dito."
Aside from her showbiz projects in the Philippines, Wurtzbach is busy fulfilling her duties with IMG as a Miss Universe ambassador.
"Usually ngayon, puro Miss Universe na events yung ina-attendan ko kapag nasa US or nasa ibang bansa. Lahat parating tungkol sa Miss Universe. Tina-try namin na iba naman, na more celebrity, more artista. But the thing is, it will take a while before people forget that you're Miss Universe because you kinda have to repackage yourself in order to be a new celebrity," she explained.
"Especially with how the crowning went also, medyo mahirap kalimutan na I was that girl. To repackage myself, they have to forget that I was a Miss Universe. Weird, di ba? Dito, it works in my favor, doon hindi. We are still trying to get that balance. It will take time, but hopefully we'll get there."
