MANILA – Tony Labrusca, one of the newest talents of Star Magic, would not confirm nor deny if he will be part of the upcoming movie adaptation of “Darna” starring Liza Soberano.
“Wala pa pong confirmed at all,” he told reporters in an interview on Sunday. “For me, anything can be changed. Until you sign that contract, you’ll never know. I can’t claim to be part of a movie if I haven’t signed anything.”
Labrusca, however, said he would be so grateful and he will definitely give his best shot should he be cast in the film.
Is he prepared to get bashed by the fans of Soberano’s team-up with Enrique Gil if he indeed becomes part of “Darna”?
“After I survived KathNiel bashing, I think I’ll survive [LizQuen bashing],” he said.
It would be recalled that Labrusca was once the target of online bashing when he joined “La Luna Sangre” as Jake, who is one of the closest friends of Bernardo's character Malia. Because of this, some die-hard supporters of the Bernardo-Padilla love team saw Labrusca as a "third party."
Meanwhile, Labrusca said he already met Soberano and he has nothing but good words to say about the actress.
“Just like what everybody says, Liza doesn’t disappoint. She's a beautiful young woman. She’s so classy and she handles herself so well. You can just tell that she’s a genuinely nice person. I really appreciate that about her,” he said.
And if it turns out that he’s indeed part of “Darna,” Labrusca said he will just put his whole heart and soul into the project.
“Bilang baguhan na artista, I think doing my best is all that I can do,” he said.
Star Cinema has yet to announce when “Darna” will hit the cinemas but it recently said that its production is already in full swing.
