MANILA – Kim Chiu is excited to release her second solo album eight years since she recorded her debut CD.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News on Tuesday, Chiu said her second album, “Chinita Princess,” will include tracks that reflect the current state of her heart.
“Pinatulog ko lang 'yung voice ko for a while," she said, in jest.
Turning serious, she noted that she is celebrating her ninth year in showbiz in June. "And magbi-birthday na rin ako so parang regalo ko ito sa lahat ng mga fans ko,” she said.
Chiu pointed out that many of her fans have been requesting her via social media to release a new album.
“Kasi sa mga shows ko abroad, naggigitara ako, kumakanta. I’m very happy na 'yung Star Records binigyan ako ng offer. I’m very happy and very excited na bumalik ulit sa music,” she said.
While Chiu did not compose any tune for the album, she said she took part in the song selection process.
“'Yung mga nag-compose ng kanta, 'yung mga bigatin. Masaya ako and sobrang excited,” she said.
Chiu said she will also reprise her hit song “Crazy Love,” the carrier single of her “Gwa Ai Di” album eight years ago, which reached a gold record status.
“It will be different. It’s more about looking at life in a positive way. Meron din kaming ‘Crazy Love 2.0’ 'yung 2015 version,” she said.
Asked if she also plans to hold a concert soon, Chiu said: “Masaya na muna ako sa album.”
“Chinita Princess” will be released in local music stores nationwide in April.
