MANILA -- The father of celebrity sisters Michelle and Ehra Madrigal has passed away.
Michelle and Ehra mourned the death of their father, Gerry, in separate Instagram posts on Thursday night.
"This is how I want to remember you... sitting on your lap like I always did growing up, happy and content," said Michelle, who posted a photo of her with her dad during his 50th birthday celebration. "Sayang, we didn't make it to your 60th next month."
"I don't even know where to start, Dad. Ang hirap kasi kakabalik ko lang. I was only gone for four days, then this happened," she continued. "We had high hopes na uuwi ka na to recover, but I guess God had other plans. I know he will be taking care of you up there. I'm glad in that short amount of time we spend in the hospital, we still made memories."
"I know you aren't suffering anymore, but the thought of not hearing you say, 'Oh, kamusta, miss ka na ng Daddy,' or 'Ingatan mo ang apo ko ah, love you' hurts. The thought of you not walking me down the aisle on my wedding day hurts, because it's finally happening but you aren't here. The feeling of coming back to Manila will never be the same. But 'til the end... you protected us from seeing you in such a way, maybe that's why you waited 'til I left. I felt your love and sincerity when you said, 'Salamat, umuwi ka para sa akin.' We may not see each other anytime soon... but one day! For now, please watch over us from heaven. Mahal na mahal kita! Alam mo 'yan."
Ehra, for her part, shared photos of her and her dad during her wedding day.
"It's been three days since you passed away, Daddy," the actress began. "Seeing you lifeless in your hospital bed, choosing your casket and all feels like it was just a bad dream. I hope you know how much I love you! If I can only keep you alive a little longer, I would... But I guess God took you away from us already so you won't have to suffer anymore."
She continued: "Mahal na mahal kita, Daddy! Iniisip ko pa lang na hindi na kita makakausap at mayayakap, ang hirap-hirap na. I don't know how I'll get through this, but I'll continue praying for more strength."
Ehra went on to share that his father's remains will be transferred to Bulacan.
"It'll be your last night later in Manila before we transfer you to Bulacan, so we'll celebrate you! 'Til we dance together in heaven again! I love you with all my heart! Paki kamusta na lang din po kami sa ama at ina!" she ended.
