'Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin' gets high TV rating

MANILA, Philippines – The pilot episode of "Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin", the much talked about ABS-CBN TV series of Coco Martin, Maja Salvador and Andi Eigenmann, drew impressive high TV ratings and rave reviews from viewers last Monday.

The soap, which is Martin’s first lead role project on TV, garnered a 37.8% audience share, according to the March 7 data released by Kantar Media-TNS survey.

It also showed that the drama, romance and action series toppled GMA 7’s “I Heart U Pare,” which grabbed a 19.4% audience share.

“Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin”, directed by Ruel Bayani, tackles two worlds, that of soldiers and that of rebels, and shows how these two worlds intertwine. The story revolves around love, family and conviction to one's moral principles.

The TV series also established stars Ronaldo Valdez, Amy Austria-Ventura and Lorna Tolentino.


Viewers turned to social networking sites to applaud "Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin" and its cast and crew.

"Fantastic talaga ang Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin!!!!! I love you Coco," i_am_madeline4U said on Twitter.

In her official Twitter page, Eigenmann thanked all those who watched the show's pilot episode. She also invited the public to keep on watching the series.

"Sabay sabay ulit nating abangan ang #minsanlangkitaiibigin sa primetime bida, bukas! ♥ thank you to all who watched," Eigenmann tweeted.

Meanwhile, Salvador shared that she turned emotional while watching the pilot episode of her newest series.

She also praised her co-star Lorna Tolentino.

"Walang kupas naman si Ms. Lorna!!! Nakakaiyaaaak!," she said.
