Best friends or lovers?
This is the theme of singer Kiana Valenciano's latest single "Grey" from her first extended play record.
On Tuesday night's episode of "Tonight With Boy Abunda," the daughter of Gary Valenciano revealed that the self-penned song is about her boyfriend Sam Concepcion.
"Actually, I wrote it about Sam when we first started... He knows that," she said.
"A lot of people know, you know, we started as friends."
"I was always a little confused and he was as well. Kasi, it's a scary thing to do, to move from friends into a relationship. Kasi that's a big risk, 'di ba?."
During the interview, Kiana also revealed that the song "Caught U" was about the story of her friend who was cheated on.
"Caught U is for people who I feel should move on from someone that doesn't see what they have until they lose it," she said.
"The feedback that I've been getting is it's an anthem because...I caught you, you're not sorry, you're just sorry I caught you."
Kiana was on the late-night show to promote the EP called "Grey" which came out on Feb.
The EP, produced by Tarsier Records, has four tracks. It is available through Spotify, iTunes, and Apple Music.
"This is more of a preview of whats to come. I will be working on a full length album, maybe 10-11 tracks," the singer said.
