MANILA -- Six years after its last season, "Star Circle Quest" is once again gathering some of the country's finest talents this year.
In a VTR rolled by the network's corporate communication team during a press conference on Tuesday, the network announced that it will revive "Star Circle Quest" and three other talent shows as segments on noontime variety program "It's Showtime."
"Star Circle Quest" is the talent search that popularized Korean pop star Sandara Park, teen heartthrob Nash Aguas, actress Erich Gonzales, and many others. Its last season "Star Circle Quest for the Next Kiddie Superstars" ended in 2011.
No further announcement about the new season was made during the presscon.
Meanwhile, after the grand finals of "Tawag ng Tanghalan" on Saturday, the contest will immediately resume on the following Monday.
But this time, it will feature kids aged 7 to 13 years old. In fact, auditions already started since December last year.
"It's Showtime" will also rerun its talent search for comedians, "Funny One," which is open for everyone aged 18 and above.
The last season of "Funny One" hailed Ryan Rems Sarita as its grand champion. Known for his hilarious pick-up lines, the former online English tutor was able to publish a book containing his jokes after he won the contest.
