10 memorable scenes in 'Got to Believe'

ABS-CBNnews.com has compiled a list of the ten most memorable scenes in "Got to Believe" as the top-rating soap airs its final episode on Friday (March 7).

"Got to Believe" tells a magical love story that revolves around Joaquin (Daniel Padilla) and Chichay (Kathryn Bernardo).

Directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina, the soap also stars Manilyn Reynes, Benjie Paras, Ian Veneracion and Carmina Villaroel.

1. How the parents of Joaquin and Chichay are connected

The debut episode of "Got to Believe" revealed the connection between the respective parents of Joaquin and Chichay.

Joaquin's father Jaime (Veneracion) is an engineer who once fell in love with Chichay's mother, Betchay (Reynes). After being encouraged by Betchay to work in Manila, Jaime met Juliana (Villaroel), who became his boss.

As they celebrate over a successful project, Juliana and Jaime got drunk, leading to an intimate moment.

Finding out about Juliana's pregnancy, Betchay decided to move on and met Chito (Paras), who is working in a circus.

Starting their respective families, Juliana and Jaime eventually had a son (Joaquin), while Betchay and Chito had a daughter (Chichay).

2. Joaquin and Chichay meet for the first time

The young Joaquin and Chichay meet for the first time in a circus, where the latter's family works. The two went inside a magic box and shared their wishes.

Enjoying the company of Chichay, Joaquin invited her to spend New Year's Eve in their house. After lighting fireworks, Chichay left Joaquin, who was eventually hit by a stray bullet. He survived, but the bullet stayed in his head.

3. Joaquin and Chichay meet again

After several years, Chichay accidentally bumped into Joaquin, leading to the former's famous line, "Sorry po."

An irritated Joaquin replied, saying: "Muntik mo na akong mapatay, sorry lang?"

4. Joaquin rescues Chichay

After spending some time together, Joaquin and Chichay became friends again and eventually began to fall for each other.

One night, when Chichay was bullied by "mean girls" in school, Joaquin came to her rescue.

5. Joaquin and Chichay nearly kiss

Joaquin asked Chichay, who works as a waitress at the Grand Crillon Ball, to be his dance partner. Feeling embarrassed, Chichay tried to leave and tripped. Joaquin carried her out of the ball and the two sat on a park bench as fireworks were launched into the night sky.

The two held hands and were about to kiss when a taxi driver called their attention.

6. Shirtless Joaquin poses for Chichay

Proving that he will do everything for Chichay, Joaquin decided to volunteer to pose shirtless for her artwork, which is a school project.

7. Chichay's Lolo Isko dies

Chichay bade farewell to her Lolo Isko (Joonee Gamboa), who peacefully died after a fun night with her and Joaquin).

8. The "best date ever"

Joaquin gave his best effort to make Chichay smile by having their "best date ever," which included going to "Kazakhstan," riding a "rocket ship" and going to the "moon."

9. Chichay breaks up with Joaquin

In an effort to save his life, Chichay agreed to Juliana's decision that Joaquin be brought abroad for treatment. After their "best date ever," Chichay breaks up with Joaquin to force him to leave her.

10. Joaquin remembers Chichay

The breakup contributed to Joaquin's condition, leading to him forgetting all about Chichay. During their time away from each other, Joaquin met Alex (Liza Soberano), who eventually became his girlfriend.

With the help of Lolo Isko, however, Joaquin finally remembered his past. He broke up with Alex and ran to the courtroom to help Chichay's father, who is about to face his sentence for raps filed by his mother, Juliana.

Joaquino revealed that the bullet in his head did not match the bullet from Chito's gun.
