MANILA – Singer and theater actor Poppert Bernadas will be holding a birthday concert and benefit show later this month.
Dubbed “Regalo,” the show is Bernadas’s first-ever solo concert. It is his birthday gift to friends, followers, and supporters but more importantly, to his mom, who is the reason for this entire endeavor.
All proceeds from the concert will be used for the treatment and medication of Bernadas’s mother who started having dialysis four years ago. In the future, he hopes to raise enough money for his mother’s kidney transplant.
The show, which will be held at 12 Monkeys Music Hall & Pub in Ortigas, Pasig at 8 p.m. on March 20, will see Bernadas showcase his versatility as a singer and storyteller. The repertoire includes songs by Ryan Cayabyab, Joni Mitchell, and Aegis, among others.
He will also perform songs from some of his favorite musical shows and films like “Dear Evan Hansen,” “The Color Purple” and “The Greatest Showman”
He will also debut his new original song “Kung Hindi Na Kaya.”
Among his guests are Toto Sorioso, The Ryan Cayabyab Singers and Morisette Amon.
Aside from being a theater actor, Poppert also tried his luck during the second season of “The Voice of the Philippines” in 2015. All four celebrity judges turned their chairs for him and he was eventually coached by pop star, Sarah Geronimo.
Bernadas is an original member of Ryan Cayabyab Singers, and is now on his 10th year performing with the award-winning vocal group.
