MANILA – Makisig Morales feels more than grateful that he was given an opportunity to make a showbiz comeback through the new ABS-CBN fantasy series “Bagani.”
Speaking on “Magandang Buhay” on Tuesday, Morales said he was in Australia, where he and his family migrated to five years ago, when he got the offer.
“They called me para pumunta ako dito. May training na ginawa kami and may costume fitting,” he said.
In Australia, Morales works part-time as a service crew in an international fast food chain while attending school at the same time.
On his free time, he returns to his first love -- singing and playing the guitar.
Morales said the offer was definitely something unexpected. “Hindi ko ma-explain kung ano 'yung saya na nararamdaman ko. Masayang masaya ako na nakabalik ako sa showbiz. Blessing po talaga ito,” he said.
He, however, admits that he misses his family, especially his younger siblings, who have remained in Australia. Nonetheless, Morales said he has their full support.
“Sobrang excited po sila. Actually nung mga first years po namin, hindi kami kumuha ng TFC para matuto nang mabilis mag-English 'yung mga bata. Pero dahil po sa show, kumuha kami ng TFC para mapanood nila. Sobrang excited po nila lalo na yung mga bata,” he said.
Morales started his showbiz career when he joined the singing contest "Little Big Star" in 2005. But he became more known as an actor, when he bagged the lead role in ABS-CBN's phenomenal television series "Super Inggo."
Aside from Morales, “Bagani” also stars Enrique Gil, Matteo Guidicelli, Sofia Andres and Liza Soberano. It airs on ABS-CBN from Monday to Friday after “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.”
