MANILA, Philippines – Star for All Seasons and reelectionist Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos said she would not be surprised if Edu Manzano bows out of the vice presidential race.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Santos pointed out that "politics is not easy."
“Kung anuman ang magiging desisyon ni Edu Manzano ay hindi ko siya masisisi because politics is not easy," Santos said.
"Feeling ko kung mabibigyan siya ng pagkakataon to serve as vice president, definitely he will do good because he is efficient,” the Batangas governor added.
Manzano, Santos' former husband, is said to be thinking of backing out of the vice presidential race due to lack of support from Lakas-Kampi-CMD.
Despite this, campaign manager Reli German said Manzano is bent on pursuing his vice-presidential bid.
Mike Toledo, a spokesman of ruling party presidential bet Gilbert Teodoro, also admitted that lack of funding has affected not just Manzano's campaign but the campaign of their standard-bearer.
