Actress Angel Locsin is part of a Muslim royal family in Marawi City in the province of Lanao del Sur.
Locsin, a Christian, said all she knows is that a princess had adopted her mother. Reports also said Locsin’s grandfather was one of the 15 sultanates in Marawi City.
"Ngayon, nagkikita-kita pa din kami ng mga pinsan-pinsanan ko. 'Yong pinaka-lolo ko po ay nasa Marawi,” she said.
She said her royal lineage is not something that she should be bragging about, noting that her relatives there lead a simple life.
She said she is happy that despite her Christian beliefs her family in Marawi City wholeheartedly accepts her.
Locsin is set to star in the Filipino version of Korean telenovela “Only You.” Her co-stars are Sam Milby and Diether Ocampo.
The cast and crew are set to fly to Korea in less than two weeks to shoot some scenes there.
“Pupunta kami ng Korea para maabutan ang spring so abangan [nila] ang mga shots na kukunin ni direk Rory Quintos,” Locsin said. "Excited kaming gawin ito kasi kami, si Sam at Diet (Ocampo), ngayon lang kami gagawa ng ganitong klaseng istorya na very light."
The story of "Only You" revolves around a woman whose passion is cooking. She travels to Italy with her male best friend in order to become a chef.
While in Italy, she gets pregnant by a rich businessman and will be deported to her country. After six years, the young businessman and the aspiring chef are set to meet again when the latter becomes an employee of the former.
