It's one of Claudine Barretto and Rico Yan's most popular flicks.

And now Julia Barretto has opened up about wanting to remake "Dahil Mahal na Mahal Kita" with Joshua Garcia.

The younger Barretto shared that she would not be opposed to portraying her aunt's famous "bad girl" role in the 1998 original.

"Gawin na natin," she told Push's Darla Sauler in a video uploaded Friday, before adding: "Sana dumating iyong perfect time."

In "Dahil Mahal na Mahal Kita," Claudine starred opposite Yan, who played Miguel, a rich student who becomes the apple of Mela's eye. Problem is, Mela despises rules while Miguel is a stickler for them.

Julia said that she would love it if Garcia would play Miguel, explaining that her "Love You to the Stars and Back" co-star is perfect for the part as he doesn't have to pretend to be a "good guy."

She also said that her dream is for her aunt Claudine to be part of the remake as well, a sentiment she first shared on Twitter last October.

Should the remake push through, it would have to take a backseat to already-made plans for a movie and a teleserye starring Julia and Garcia.

Julia revealed in the same interview with Sauler that their movie, describing it as a "rom-com na ibang-iba," is scheduled to be released this summer.

She also shared that they will begin work on a new teleserye after Garcia's "The Good Son" concludes.
