MANILA – Arci Muñoz’s reunion movie with Gerald Anderson, “Can We Still Be Friends,” hits a little close to home that she thought the film’s plot was patterned after her own love story.

She admitted this while speaking to reporters after their story conference on Tuesday.

Muñoz, who recently broke up with local rock artist Badi del Rosario, said their upcoming movie is basically about exes figuring out if they can actually be friends after their failed romance.

Baka umiyak ako eh," she added when pressed by reporters.

But does she really think it’s possible to be friends with an ex?

“Sa estado ko ngayon, depende. Pero sa ngayon kasi sinasabi nila na kung kaya mo makipagkaibigan sa ex mo, it’s either mahal mo pa siya or never mo siya minahal. Sa ngayon, ayaw ko sagutin talaga,” she said.

At this point, Anderson helped out Muñoz and explained that situation may vary in every relationship.

It takes time. Depende sa break up, depende sa sitwasyon. Oras talaga, time heals everything,” he said.

Despite the movie’s storyline, Muñoz said she did not think twice about the project when she learned that she will be working with Anderson again.

The two first worked together in the movie “Always Be My Maybe” last year.

“Para sa akin, sobra akong naging komportable sa kanya sa ‘Always Be My Maybe’ so nung sinabing siya ulit, ang saya ko. Happy set kasi kami noon. I wouldn’t mind doing it again,” she said.

As early as now, both are already looking forward to start filming the movie because it’s something “very relatable,” according to Anderson.

“It’s a simple movie about a relationship.

Star Cinema has yet to announce its playdate and other details about the movie.
