Comedian Oscar Obligacion dies at 86

MANILA, Philippines - Comedian Oscar Obligacion died on Friday due to kidney failure. He was 86.

Obligacion, a former contract star of ABS-CBN, was known for playing comical Japanese soldier. Dubbed as "Pantarorong" and "Kumang," Obligacion started his showbiz career in 1960s.

"Talagang in-born ang kanyang pagka-comedian na napapatawa niya ang lahat ng tao. Kaya mahal na mahal siya," said Obligacion’s wife, Myrna.

Obligacion was also a loving father to his 4 children.

"No. 1 siya being a father. He taught as everything," shared Neville, son of the late comedian.

Aside from doing over 100 films, the comedian was also known for his radio show "Mr. Buy & Sell."

With Sylvia La Torre, Obligacion also hosted ABS-CBN's "The Best Show" and "Oras ng Ligaya."

Obligacion's body was cremated. Private viewing will be held from March 5 to 7 at the Heritage Memorial Park in Taguig. The Buzz
