MANILA – It’s official! Sarah Geronimo is returning as one of the coaches on “The Voice Teens.”
Geronimo confirmed the good news in an interview wherein she expressed how excited she is to be back on the popular talent show.
“Para sa lahat ng mga aspiring singers na katulad ko, pinagdaanan ko din ‘yon, this is for them,” she told ABS-CBN News' MJ Felipe.
Although there are some who doubt her credibility as a mentor, Geronimo does not plan on minding her critics.
“Everybody is parang nag-scrutinize, ‘Si Sarah, kaya niya ba mag-coach?’ So medyo may, ‘Shucks kailangan ko patunayan.’ Na-pressure din ako. Pero this time, ayaw ko masyado ma-pressure doon. Hindi natin matatanggal ‘yon. Gusto ko mag-focus sa talento talaga ng mga artists,” she said.
Geronimo is one of the original mentors of the talent show alongside Lea Salonga, Bamboo Mañalac, and apl.de.ap.
She skipped a season of “The Voice” for the first time last year, citing her intention to focus more on her personal growth as an artist.
Geronimo was replaced by veteran singer Sharon Cuneta for the third season of “The Voice Kids.”
For the show's upcoming teen edition. which is a first in Asia, Geronimo will be joining Salonga, Cuneta, and Mañalac in the panel of coaches.
