MANILA - Butuan native Jason Dy made his case for "The Voice of the Philippines" crown on Saturday, performing a Chris Brown hit at the grand finale of the singing competition held at Resorts World Manila, Parañaque City.
Dy, who has been dubbed as a "professional haranista," sang "With You" -- a song popularized by the R&B singer back in 2007.
"I will never forget the very first time I heard you sing, nakatalikod ako noon at napaka-espesyal 'yung ginawa mo na iyon," said coach Sarah Geronimo in her bid to have home viewers vote for Dy.
"You held on to that pero pinatunayan mo na there is more to that in you. You help yourself develop into a full grown artist that you are now because you are willing to learn," she added.
Speaking for Dy's online fan base, she then told the young artist: "We love you."
Dy is just one of the four finalists of the singing competition. The other finalists are Leah Patricio, Alisah Bonaobra, and Rence Rapanot.
The results of the grand finals will be announced on Sunday.
