MANILA - It appears that teen actress Julia Barretto and father, comedian Dennis Padilla, have patched things up.

Barretto, on her Instagram account, posted a photo late Wednesday of her smiling with the 53-year-old with the caption: "Papa being his comedian self."

It comes more than a month after it was revealed that Barretto allegedly ignored Padilla during a party held last December.

The event, a gathering of stars and staff of Dreamscape-produced series, took place last December 14.

Padilla was a cast member of "Ikaw Lamang," while his daughter played the title characters in "Mirabella."

At the time, Padilla said that her daughter was aware of his presence but neither approached nor greeted him during the party.

The snubbing incident was alleged to have been caused by the 17-year-old's move to formally drop Padilla's surname.

According to the camp of the "Mirabella" actress, the petition was to "prevent confusion" regarding her name, being a public figure.

In an interview shortly after the September 2014 report, Padilla claimed that it was because of his inability to provide financial support. "Talagang hindi na ako nakapagbigay because I have no more projects," he said at the time.

The meeting between the two may also prove timely as Barretto is set to celebrate her 18th birthday on March 10. Her father have already expressed his willingness to be part of the occasion.

A daughter of actress Marjorie Barretto and Padilla, Barretto was dubbed a "showbiz royalty" when she was launched in 2013 as a Star Magic artist. She is also a niece of actresses Gretchen and Claudine Barretto.
