Fans pointed towards Carlo Aquino when they tried to guess who sent Angelica Panganiban a bouquet of red roses last January.
But as it turned out, it was JM de Guzman.
In an interview with Push's Darla Sauler uploaded this week, he explained that he simply wanted to show Panganiban his appreciation for their friendship.
"Siya iyong klase na binibigyan mo ng bulaklak kahit hindi Valentine's," he said.
He added that he's grateful that Panganiban made him feel welcome as he makes his acting comeback following his two-year hiatus.
A month after he signed with Star Magic -- the same talent agency that manages Panganiban's career -- De Guzman was spotted with the actress going out with friends. They also went to La Union together.
Panganiban and De Guzman grew close after working on "That Thing Called Tadhana," which became the highest grossing indie flick in the country's box-office history in 2014.
In the same interview with Sauler, De Guzman revealed that the movie's director, Antoinette Jadaone, has been working on a script for a sequel but is in no rush to finish it.
"Gusto niya ay nasa tamang oras," he shared.
