MANILA -- Balikbayan crooner Timmy Pavino ended his "The Voice of the Philippines" journey on the show's episode on Sunday.
Pavino and teammate Leah Patricio performed Bruno Mars' "Locked Out of Heaven," earning a standing ovation from their coach, Lea Salonga.
For the live semifinals, the last eight contestants will perform twice: a solo performance and a duet with their teammate.
For her solo performance on Saturday, Patricio took on Martin Nievera's "Ikaw Lamang ang Mamahalin," while Pavino performed Gary Valenciano's "Ikaw Lamang."
After their performance on Sunday, apl.de.ap said: "Hey guys, congratulations for that entertaining number, you guys are having fun out there. But for me, tonight, ang pipiliin ko ay si Leah."
Salonga also chose Patricio as the better performer for the night, giving her a higher score.
"Gusto ko lang sabihin na napaka-proud ako bilang coach niyo sa lahat ng mga ginawa niyong performances na magaganda. Pero heto ang katotohanan, kagabi, si Leah talaga ang matingkad, 'yung mas matingkad sa dalawa... However, sa duet naman, kahit magaling din si Leah, talagang lumaban din si Timmy, at talagang nagpakitang gilas din si bagets sa number na 'yun," she added.
Patricio received 55% from Salonga, while Pavino got 45%.
Although Pavino topped viewers' votes, he was eventually sent home after getting only 49.71% of total combined votes.
Patricio will be competing with Rence Rapanot, Jason Dy, and Alisah Bonaobra in the grand finals next weekend.
