MANILA - ABS-CBN has set audition dates for several of its shows, including the pioneering reality TV series in the country, "Pinoy Big Brother," and the singing competition for children that launched Lyca Gairanod to stardom, "The Voice Kids."
Dubbed the "Grand Kapamilya Audition Caravan," the auditions will be held at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City on the first weekend of March.
"Pinoy Big Brother," which has so far produced 12 big winners since August 2005, will welcome a new batch of housemates for separate regular and teen editions.
Auditions for aspiring housemates aged 18 to 35 will be held on March 6. The following day, those aged 13 to 17 will be screened.
For both audition dates, only the first 10,000 applicants will be accommodated.
Meanwhile, the second season of "The Voice Kids" will kick off its search also on March 7. The audition is open to children aged 7 to 13.
Younger kids will also get a chance to shine, as "It's Showtime" will hold screenings for aspiring "Mini Me" contestants on March 6. Those aged 9 or below can join.
The "Caravan" will also hold a two-day story gathering for "Maalaala Mo Kaya," ABS-CBN's long-running anthology that dramatizes real-life experiences of letter senders or personalities.
ABS-CBN's talent management firm, Star Magic, will also be on the look-out for new artists on both days, according to a televised teaser on Wednesday.
According to the teaser, more auditions will be held in Cebu, Lucena, Dagupan, Isabela, Iloilo, General Santos, Davao, Cagayan de Oro and Legazpi.
