MANILA - Jolina Magdangal and husband Rivermaya drummer Mark Escueta welcomed their first child on Tuesday afternoon, the singer-actress' manager said.
According to Perry Lansigan, as quoted in a Yahoo! report, Magdangal gave birth by cesarean section at 2:51 p.m. at the Asian Hospital and Medical Center in Muntinlupa.
The couple, who got married on November 21, 2011, named the baby Pele Inigo, Lansigan added.
"Tuwang tuwa 'yung doctors and nurses kasi ang puti daw ni Pele," said Lansigan. The baby weighed 6.9 pounds at birth.
Hours before she gave birth, Magdangal took to Instagram to share that she had been admitted to the hospital.
"Today is 'waiting for our baby' Day 18," the former teen idol said in the caption of a photo of her hand with intravenous insertion. "We are still waiting. More contractions but still less pain. Thank you Pele di mo pinapahirapan si mama."
