MANILA – The movie “That Thing Called Tadhana” has already breached the P100 million mark on Sunday, less than two weeks since it first hit theaters.

Starring Angelica Panganiban and JM de Guzman, the movie was a winning entry in last year's Cinema One Originals film festival.

The romantic-comedy by Antoinette Jadaone, which won the Audience Choice Award and Best Actress for Panganiban, was picked up by ABS-CBN film outfit Star Cinema, which distributed the movie nationwide.

In her Instagram post, Panganiban said her movie’s box office performance has left her at a loss for words.

“Salamat. Wala na kami masabi... Salamat. Napakasayang adventure ng movie na to. Salamat sa matatalino at malalim. At mababaw. At maarte at kumapit na lang sa movie na to. Para maka move on. Or. Simpleng naka relate lang. Salamat po,” she said.

"That Thing Called Tadhana" tells the story of Mace (Panganiban) and Anthony (de Guzman), strangers who meet at an airport in Rome, Italy, as they decide to go on a road trip in Luzon to help each other mend their broken hearts.

The film has become a viral hit on Facebook where producers post so-called "hugot" lines from the conversations of Mace and Anthony.
