MANILA, Philippines -- Actor Derek Ramsay finally broke his silence on the issue that he's moving to another network.

In an interview with The Buzz magazine for its March 2012 issue, Ramsay stressed that he has a contract with ABS-CBN.

"My God, wala pa! May kontrata pa ako sa ABS-CBN, no? Hanggang end of February (this year) ang contract ko. After that, I will consult my family and will make a decision," Ramsay told the magazine.

Ramsay didn't deny that there is an offer for him to leave ABS-CBN. He said if ever he will decide to leave, he will definitely do it for his career and not because of money.

"Meron naman (offer). Pero ang daming nagsasabi, pera-pera. Hindi ako mukhang pera. If I make a decision, it would be more on saan pupunta ang career ko, kung ano ang mga projects na gagawin ko. Ang tagal ko nang wala sa TV, di ba? Almost two years na akong wala sa TV. My last soap was 'Magkaribal,'" Ramsay said.

Ramsay admitted that he turned down the offer to be part of the hit afternoon series "Reputasyon" because he already agreed to do two films last year -- "No Other Woman" and "Praybeyt Benjamin."

"Tinanggihan ko ang 'Reputasyon' dahil sa nakaoo na ako sa pelikula. Eh, mas importante sa akin ang... my word is more important than anything else. Umoo ako sa dalawang pelikula, hindi ko pwedeng talikuran dahil binigyan ako ng proyekto," he said.

Asked if he has ill-feelings against ABS-CBN, Ramsay replied: "Tampo sa ABS-CBN? Hindi tampo, eh. I had disappointments with some sort of things that happened, pero I'm also thankful na binigyan nila ako ng maraming trabaho. They partnered me with Judy Ann Santos, and kung hindi dahil kay Judy Ann, sa partnership with Judy Ann, I wouldn't be where I am now."

"So, there are things that went right, there are things that went wrong. Ganoon naman lagi naman eh. This is a business and it's not always smooth-sailing. And I've been vocal naman with my disappointments sa ABS-CBN. But there are things that I want to look at," he explained.

Ramsay admitted that there are different projects that he wants to do which the network can't offer him.

But he stressed that right now, his loyalty is still with ABS-CBN.

"Yeah, because I'm under contract with ABS-CBN and that's how I was brought up. Tatapusin ko ang lahat ng commitments ko, hindi pwedeng ano... papatayin ako ng daddy," Ramsay said.
