MANILA — Several entertainment and news personalities identified with GMA-7 have aired their support for ABS-CBN amid challenges to the renewal of its broadcast franchise.

Dingdong Dantes, a top leading man of GMA-7, was among the first to express his stand on the issue, saying, "We are one in the media industry."

That sentiment was echoed by numerous others from the Kapuso network in their respective social media posts. Some mentioned the loss of jobs for thousands if ABS-CBN is forced to cease its broadcast operations, while others equated the potential shutdown to curtailing press freedom — a pillar of democracy.
