MANILA -- Actress Crisel Consunji continues to make the Philippines proud after getting two major nominations at the prestigious Hong Kong Film Awards (HKFA).
Consunji is nominated in both the Best Actress and Best New Performer categories for her performance in the movie “Still Human.”
In an interview with Hong Kong newspaper Ming Pao, Consunji expressed how happy she is to even just be nominated.
“I’m so happy to be one of the nominees, I’m grateful for everyone who worked on 'Still Human,' especially the director Chan Siu-kuen for making this film that focuses on the problems that Filipino domestic helpers in Hong Kong face,” she said.
Based on its official trailer, the movie is about a paralyzed divorcee Cheong-wing (Anthony Wong) who is in need of a caregiver.
He later employs a young Filipino woman Evelyn (Consunji), who gives up her dream of becoming a photographer so she could go to Hong Kong as a domestic helper and earn a living.
