Actress Bela Padilla is happy that one of her ideas has been turned into another movie.

Padilla wrote the script for "Apple of My Eye," the Valentine's Day offering of iWant and Dreamscape Digital.

In an interview with Push, Padilla shared that she pitched the story first before she wrote the script.

"This story I pitched it first before I wrote it. Inimbitahan lang kami to pitch concepts sa digital team tapos nung na-approve ito at saka yung isang concept, saka ko lang siya sinulat. Na-invite kasi ako sa first batch ng pitchers," Padilla said.

"Apple of My Eye" tells the story of app developer Michael (Marco Gumabao) and traditional girl Apple (Krystal Reyes) who does not even own a mobile phone.

According to Padilla, although she is similar to Apple in terms of being not that "techie," the story was not influenced by her personal life.

"Wala naman pero I would say na nakaka-relate ako sa character ni Apple kasi medyo hindi ako techie. Nung una akong nagpadala ng script, sa email ko lang sinulat. Hindi ako nag-attach ng files so medyo in a way, I would say I’m still very traditional like her, mahilig sa sulat. So yun lang siguro similarity ko sa buong kuwento pero situations or yung sa mismong kuwento, wala naman," she said.

She added she wants to change people's view of digital movies with her stories.

"I think ang difference sa lahat ng digital shows and movies, kasi pag sinabing digital automatic sinasagad eh. Sagad sa sexy or violence. Lahat kasi puwede mo ilabas sa digital. But this is so different and we purposely made it this way para makita ng mga tao na digital can offer a lot of things, especially Dreamscape digital na nag-produce sila ng something light and fresh. Kasi minsan, love stories don’t always have to be so complicated. It can be light and simple, feel good," Padilla shared.
