For his countrymen, “Pilipinas Got Talent” winner Marcelito Pomoy may be a frontrunner in “The Champions” edition of the format, but the dual-voice singer believes he faces stiff competition from his counterpart from India.
Prior to the grand finals of “Asia’s Got Talent” on Monday (Manila time), Pomoy named the acrobatic dance group V.Unbeatable as his biggest rival for the title.
V.Unbeatable, which placed fourth overall in the 14th season of “America’s Got Talent” in 2019, went straight to the finals again in “The Champions” after getting a golden buzzer from the judges.
Pomoy was asked about the competing acts in his guesting on ABS-CBN’s “Gandang Gabi Vice” that aired Sunday, the night before his final performance on “America’s Got Talent” was aired.
For the grand finals, Pomoy sang “Beauty and the Beast” in the style of the original duet by Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson.
The winner of “The Champions” will be announced next Monday.
