MANILA – More than a year since they last worked on a movie together, Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla are set to reunite for another big screen project.
Titled “After Forever,” the movie will once again be directed by Cathy Garcia Molina, who said that this will be her penultimate project.
“We are very, very excited. Nung 2019, wala kasi kaming ginawa ni DJ kahit soap or movie. Kinailangan namin pareho 'yung break na 'yun. Ngayon finally babalik na kami sa big screen with direk Cathy again. Ibang experience na naman ito,” Bernardo said in an interview on Monday.
In Bernardo’s last movie “Hello, Love, Goodbye,” the actress revealed that Molina really gave her a hard time so she could get into her character. This proved to be effective as a lot of people noticed the improvement in her acting.
Asked if he’s prepared to experience Molina’s difficult hand as well, Padilla said: “Okay naman. Handa naman kami na pahirapan. Alam naman naming tatrabahuhin namin ito. 'Yung tiwala naming na kay Direk Cathy naman so lahat ng maibibigay, ibibigay natin.”
Without divulging details that could preempt the film, Molina said “After Forever” is definitely a step up for Bernardo and Padilla from “The Hows of Us.”
The movie, which will begin filming this month, will be set in San Francisco.
“Namili kami ng ibang countries pero San Francisco 'yung nag-fit sa kuwento namin. Nagkataon si Daniel, mahal niya 'yung San Francisco. Kami din, we found the beauty in it when we went there. Nakadalawang punta na po kami. Una with Carmi to do research and then pangalawa po, nag-ocular ako. Pagbalik namin, kasama na namin sila for shoot. Obviously love story siya,” Molina said.
Written by Carmi Raymundo, “After Forever” is slated to be released mid-2020.
