MANILA - John Lloyd Cruz, the star of "A Second Chance," is thrilled to have been given the chance to work with actress Jennylyn Mercado, who was recently named Metro Manila Film Festival Best Actress for her role in "Walang Forever."
"I've been dying to work with Jennylyn," the 32-year-old Cruz said in an interview aired in the Tuesday episode of "Tonight with Boy Abunda."
He added: "I'm very happy na, finally 'di ba, kahit hindi kayo galing sa iisang istasyon mayroon nang opportunity para magkatrabaho kayo. Mas maganda iyon para sa industriya."
Mercado, for her part, admitted that she is a fan of Cruz's work. She said: "Alam ng nakararami na I'm a fan, halos lahat talaga ng pelikula niya pinanood ko."
Mercado also praised director Cathy Garcia-Molina, whom she will work with for the first time. "Sa lahat na mga pinagdaanan ko na director, si Direk Cathy iba yung atake, iba yung style," she said.
The still-untitled movie, produced by Star Cinema, is slated to be released in theaters next month. No other details about the project have been disclosed.
